Genesee Valley Park-RIT-MCC

Three collages in just a few hours! That's where this flat 15 mile ride goes. Although the ride starts across the street (Elmwood) from the U of R (at the Genesee Valley Park Skating Rink), you might want to check it out when you get back, there are a lot of nice buildings on campus as well as the bike path along the river. From there you can even take the foot bridge across the river and ride down Plymouth Ave back to the start. Each campus is very unique. U of R is more urban, where RIT and MCC campuses have much more open space. You are bound to find someone flying a kite, practicing a sport or just walking their dog.

This route was revised in 2009 because the "old way" along the river thru the park is no longer, but we still have one quiet section on the return that you don't want to miss. It breaks off Crittenden Road pass a yellow barricade into the park, and onto an abandoned road (Hawthorne) that passes by the southern section of the golf course. VERY pretty ride!
