Can Yan tour

From Canandaigua to PennYan, hence the name. 47 miles of rolling hills takes you on some great roads through the heart of Amish/Mennonite country. There's a good bet you will see at least one horse and buggy and several Amish farmers in the fields, unless it is a Sunday. A side trip from PennYan to the Windmill outlet (only open on Saturday) extends the ride approximately another 15 miles but makes a great lunch stop. Take panniers if you plan on shopping and remember whatever you buy, you have to carry home. Gorham and PennYan are the food stops on the outbound route, while there are no food stops on the return, especially if you didn't go to the market. There is one REALLY noticeable climb on Wager Rd after leaving PennYan.
