Adopt a Highway
The RBC adopted a 4 mile stretch of road on Route 250 in Webster some time ago. Our "section " is between State Road in Webster and Penfield Center Rd. As part of our commitment, we are required to pick up trash along the roadside at least 4 times a year. With enough people this can be done in as little as 1-2 hours. Wearing a hard hat and safety vest is mandatory which are supplied by the DOT. Bike helmets work well and fit better too. Wearing your own safety vest or bright orange jacket is permissible as well, and don't forget the work gloves and boots. Meet at the corner of Plank Rd and Rt 250. Participating in this activity earns you one volunteer point.
