Schoen Place to Perinton, aka: Fairport to Pittsford
If you like riding hard packed cinder canal paths, then this 13 mile ride is the ride for you. It is perfectly doable on a regular bike, but fatter tires will make for a softer ride. Riding just beyond Perinton Park will put you in the village of Fairport where there is ice cream. Crossing over Marsh Rd bridge in Bushnells Basin will allow you to get ice cream at Abbotts, otherwise you just have to look longingly across the canal at the happy folks eating their ice cream while you continue on the dusty trail. Of course you could always hold out until you got back to the start. How much ice cream can you eat on a 13 mile ride anyway?
