Rare2K

Evolved thru the years, the Rare2K is a generally flat Recumbent Rally ride started by Mike Brisson and Dave Larson of the "Rochester Area Recumbent Enthusiasts" (RARE) in the year 2000. Hence the name, Rare2K (two thousand).

The annual weekend event's name is updated each year according to it's version number defined by the year (then "dot"), and how many times it's been run. For example, the 2nd year was R2k01.2 and was in the year 2001. The fifth year, it was titled R2k04.5. Get it?

As of the 10th year (in 2009 ... get it?), the ride has options up to 100 miles, mostly flat, in the areas between Hamlin Beach State Park, the Erie Canal Trail, Charlotte, Irondequoit, and the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que Grill in downtown Rochester.
