About the RBC
The Rochester Bicycling Club was founded in 1967 by a small group of people who liked to ride together. The club promotes the use of bicycles for sport, recreation, health and transportation. We work to protect the rights of cyclists and for increased bicycle safety on all roads and trails.
The club has several hundred cyclists, covering a wide range of ages and abilities, who ride bicycles for fun and fitness. Club members ride a variety of bike types, including hybrid, touring, racing, mountain, tandem and recumbent bikes.
The RBC schedules nearly 400 rides per year covering the greater Rochester area and the beautiful Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. Rides are scheduled between March and November from over 400 mapped routes. Rides can range from 10 flat miles to over 100 very hilly miles. Most members ride in the 20 to 50 mile range, a distance most anyone can do with a little experience.
In addition to rides, the club offers social gatherings such as picnics, a spring awards banquet, a volunteer dinner, a general meeting & pot-luck party, and a winter multimedia show meeting.
