Bike Camping Trip: Schodack Island State Park

This is a bike camping trip, which means we will have our cars at the campsite and can pack our camping gear in our cars. On Aug 31 we will drive to the Albany area and stop at a designated parking area to explore some of the Champlain Valley trail (going north from Albany) on our bikes. Depending on time, we will ride approximately 40-45 miles. We will then drive to our campsites at Schodack Island State Park (13 miles south of Albany along NYS Route 9J).

We currently have a few non electric sites booked in the Creek Side Loop but they have electric sites as well if you are interested. Sharing a site may be an option else you can book your own site as well. The campground has very good reviews with a lot of amenities, clean bathrooms/hot showers, and lots of hiking and biking within the park itself.

On Sunday we will ride approximately 40-50 miles on the Hudson Valley Greenway Trail. On Monday we will pack up camp and do some of the Erie Canalway trail from the Albany area (going west from Albany) before heading home.
