Announcing: Upcoming Family Bike Tours - NEW!

Hello FLCC'ers and supporters, (including our friends in the Southern Tier Bicycle Club)

For 10 years the Finger Lakes Cycling Club organized the Young People's Bike Tour, with the objective of getting kids and families to embrace the freedom and empowerment of traveling substantial distances by bike. While those tours were very successful, with upwards of 135 participants per tour, they ended about 5 years ago when our kids grew up to be adults. Now, in 2024, I am thrilled to announce that the spirit of those bike tours lives on thanks to a Buffalo-based non-profit called Teen Treks, and local cyclist and FLCC member Katie Barnhill. Katie, along with the management and staff of Teen Treks, has helped set up an informal partnership between Teen Treks and local cycling organizations, including the FLCC, to share our advice and experience with Teen Treks, to enable them to organize new family bike tours this summer.

Therefore, I am excited to announce two Teen Treks Family Bike Tours, which I hope will appeal to a new generation of families:

Niagara Falls, Niagara Falls, NY, July 13-14, 2024

and

Taughannock Falls, Ithaca, NY, July 20-21, 2024
