Many of our members are familiar with Jules Kleinhenz, an affable man who rode many miles with the club each year, having been awarded the highest mileage medal at least twice as well as the stone saddle award.  He is pictured above, fourth from the left.

I am very sad to let our members know that Jules passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014.

Jules had been battling cancer for the past year but had recently been put on a new drug that had him feeling much better.  It is currently unknown what the cause of death was, and services have not yet been announced.

I will share news of the services when I hear them, and I welcome anyone else who may have the information before me to share it here.

We should live the way Jules did: enjoy each day to its fullest pursuing that which you love.

    Carpe Diem.

    Rest in Peace Jules.

I have two messages to convey from Paul Kleinhenz, Jules brother.

    1) Samia, Jules wife, is overwhelmed by all the phone calls and would like everyone to step back a bit and give her some privacy.  It's been too much for her.

    2) Samia is considering May 18th as the date for a service for Jules.  No details.

That's all I know.  Will update here when I get more information…or if someone else gets it first, please post.

    Thanks

Very sad indeed.  I've been fearing getting this news for some time.  Jules always greeted me like an old friend and remembered my name even though I only manage to get in a few club rides each year.  As a cancer survivor, we had a couple of conversations about the battle he was fighting.  His spirit and attitude touched me as I'm sure it touched everyone who knew him.

God bless you Jules, you will be missed.

Sad to hear. Jules was quite a colorful member. I only rode with him a couple of times, but they were memorable rides.
